Mac & Cheese!

I get excited about food.

I'm not like the TV chefs who taste their dishes and swoon like they've created a piece of heaven, but I do get excited when I find a gluten free replacement for a comfort food! Then I want to tell the world about it, so here you go:

Recently, Amy's has introduced a new Rice Macaroni With Non-Dairy Cheeze frozen side dish that is both gluten free AND dairy free.  Before, the company only made a gluten free version of America's favorite side dish, macaroni and cheese. This has long since been a frustration for me about prepared gluten free food. For example, Amy's has a gluten free pizza crust with regular cheese and a regular pizza crust with soy cheese. Why not make a gluten free crust with soy cheese????

That has all changed now. Amy's has created a gluten free/dairy free pizza and mac & cheese! The pizza is still made with garlic and onions so it's still off-limits for me. However, they spared the mac & cheese from the garlic and onions, and so I bought it with extreme joy and was anxious to get home to try it.

Let me tell you, it is glorious! The cheese tastes so much like real Cheddar cheese I had to reread the ingredient list twice to make sure it was safe! It's thick. It's creamy. I licked the bowl.

Other great news is that it is available at Kroger! I had bought the first one at Earthfare, but this week Kroger had them and I bought three. I should have bought the other two they had, but other people like me need to find this joy! I sure hope Kroger gets the message and keeps these in stock. I'm so excited!
